Explicit, written consent is obtained from the patient or participant before initiating SMS communications, in alignment with our commitment to privacy and ethical practice.

5. Data Security

The Apeiron Research Center is deeply committed to protecting your Protected Health Information (PHI) and all personal data. We implement industry-standard physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, use, or disclosure of your information. All highly sensitive health data is managed within our validated, compliant electronic systems such as the EHR and the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). However, no security measure is entirely impenetrable, and the Center cannot guarantee the absolute security of data transmission or electronic storage.

We utilize SMS text messaging strictly for logistical purposes (e.g., scheduling and reminders) to deliberately minimize the transmission of PHI. We must disclose that SMS messages are not encrypted. By their nature, these messages carry an inherent security risk and may be viewable by anyone with access to your mobile device. Your consent to receive text messages explicitly acknowledges and accepts this inherent risk associated with using this unencrypted method for non-clinical coordination.We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

6. Children's Privacy

The Site is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.  

7. International Transfers

Your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the country in which you are resident. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country. By using the Site, you consent to the transfer of your personal information to these countries.
